How To Sell: Step 3
Prepare Items for Sale
At this point, you should have printed the master inventory list of your items being sold and tags for each item on 3 column white self-adhesive labels with black ink. (If not, go to Print Master Inventory List and Item Tags.)
- Attach Self-Adhesive Tag to the FRONT Cover
- Attach the tag printed on a self-adhesive label directly to the FRONT cover of your item.
- Items with tags on the back cover or inside cover will not be accepted.
- If there is a label from a previous year, completely cover or remove that label.
- Do not put any other tape under tag as this disrupts our scanners.
- For items that you are choosing to sell as a set, there will be a "set" tag for the entire set which has the price on it as well as one tag for each item in the set.
- Prepare Sets
Sets must be packaged together in a large plastic bag or wrapped with saran wrap and taped with packaging tape. Multiple labels will be printed for the sets. Affix the label which has a barcode to the outside of the plastic bag. The labels which have no barcode should be affixed one to each book in the set. (Note: Every book in the set will have a tag for being part of the set.) DO NOT use rubberbands or string to hold your sets together. They will fall apart and get separated or lost.
For Example: Saxon Algebra has a student textbook, a test forms manual, and an answer key. Four tags will be printed: one with a barcode and three with only the set name and no barcode. Affix the tag with the barcode to the outside of the packaging. Affix one of the tags without the barcode to each book in the set.
It is important that you package your books carefully. Invariably books in sets become separated and it is our policy that sets that become separated will not be sold. Please make sure your sets are packaged securely! CHAP is not responsible for sets which become separated for whatever reason, or for missing pieces of sets.
- Please add a label to your sets describing the interior condition of your items. For example, no writing or highlighting; answers are filled in; pages 1-22 are missing, etc. This will help the people buying your item as they cannot open the packaging to evaluate the condition of the items in a wrapped set.
- Preparing items with pieces
Make sure that all puzzles are securely wrapped in plastic wrap and secured with packaging tape - pieces are easily lost in this setting. Games and boxed items should be taped shut to ensure all pieces are retained. To assure people that all pieces are inside, one could add an extra label to the outside of the box stating that the game is complete or stating what is missing.
- Pack items
Pack all items to be sold in a box/boxes for transport to the CHAP Used Curriculum Sale. Packing similar items from similar categories together will aid you in distributing your items to the tables in a more efficient manner upon your arrival.
- Add Master Inventory List
Place your master inventory list in one of your boxes.
- Fill out stamped, self-addressed envelope
Fill out a stamped, self-addressed envelope (or purchase one from the Used Curriculum Sale for $1.00) so payment can be mailed to you after the convention. Place the stamped, self-addressed envelope in one of your boxes.
