CHAP VOLUNTEERS

Welcome! The volunteer system is the heart of the CHAP convention, one of the largest in the world. Without volunteers we could not serve the thousands of home educators who come every year. We thank you in advance for all you do.

Benefits of Volunteering:

• A chance to serve fellow homeschoolers
• A tuition rebate equal to the tuition of each volunteer
• Early bird shopping on Friday morning. 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Friday.
  (Imagine a chance to shop with only 300 other people there.)
• Online orientation, so no early morning meeting to attend

Who Can Volunteer?

You can! You must be 18 or older. We do have some positions (such as set up, tear down and errand running) for teens who must be between 14 and 17 year of age to volunteer. For a teen to be assigned, one parent must also volunteer. If you signed up to volunteer in the past and did not report for your assignment, you will not be accepted as a volunteer this year.

How Do I Volunteer?

You must first be a registered attendee.
You must register online and pay with a credit card. After you have done this you will be offered a chance to volunteer. You will be asked to identify which attendees will be volunteering. You will then be asked to pick a time slot and finally be given a choice of jobs available.

The jobs are first come first served, so it is to your advantage to sign up early. If there are no jobs available you will be offered a spot on the waiting list.

You will participate in electronic orientation. You will be sent information on your job by email. You must read it.

If you want to take advantage of the early bird shopping, you should arrive at the Farm Show building by 7:45 AM and report to the Volunteer Registration Area located in the lower spline past the entrance to the Equine Arena. You can pick up your early bird shopping pass and your refund. Shopping will begin at 8:00 AM and end at 9:30 AM.
